Traffic Unit

The Pleasantville Police Department Traffic Unit is committed to the safety of pedestrians, bicyclists, and motor vehicles within the City of Pleasantville. The unit consists of two officers that have undergone extensive training in crash investigation and crash reconstruction. The officers utilize their training to accomplish routine and targeted traffic enforcement, minor and serious accident investigations; to include fatal crash investigations in conjunction with the Atlantic County Prosecutor ’s Office. In addition, the unit routinely partners with the Motor Vehicle Commission, Mobile Inspection Team, to address traffic safety-related issues that involve the installation of child safety seats for parents, mobile inspections of motor vehicles, and taxi-cab inspections. The unit also applies and receives County and State funding for pro-active traffic campaigns such as Click It or Ticket, Utext, Udrive, Upay, Distracted Driver, and Drive Sober. The traffic unit is under the direct command of he Patrol Commander.

Traffic Unit Officers

Officer Hernandez has worked in law enforcement since 2011. He started his career off working at the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Officer Hernandez then transferred to the Atlantic County Sheriff's Office in 2012. He was then hired by the Pleasantville Police Department in 2014. In February 2022, Officer Hernandez was transferred to the Traffic Safety Unit.

Officer Garcia has worked in law enforcement since 2011. He started his career off working at the Atlantic County Justice Facility. He was then hired by the Pleasantville Police Department in 2018. In February 2022, Officer Garcia was transferred to the Traffic Safety Unit.
